Product description

The world tour is a Rockport legend. With its relaxed fit and Rockport walking platform construction, the men's world tour collection delivers what it takes to go the extra mile. Additional comfort features include a padded tongue and collar.

Rockport has always been one step ahead of the times, believing the perfect shoe has not yet been invented. This positive dissatisfaction compels them to constantly improve upon their footwear. Founded in 1971, they were the first company to use advanced athletic technologies in casual shoes to achieve lightweight comfort, and the first company to engineer walking comfort in dress and casual shoes.

I have worn Rockports for about 13 years and have mostly loved them. Unfortunately I've noticed a decline in their quality the last maybe 5 years. I will be returning this pair due to manufacturing irregularities. The tongues on this new pair are both about 3/4 inch shorter than my previous pair and as well as much shorter than shown in the picture in the ad. When I tie the laces the lace slip off the top of the tongue onto my foot. I've included a picture of one of my old shoes alongside one of the new ones.

I have also recently tried on this and several other styles of Rockports at an upscale department store and found them to have the same and other quality control issues - so it's not just the quality of those on . Until Rockport returns to the outstanding shoes they had in the past, I will be buying a different brand.

I have purchased this same shoe 3 times over 6 years. The first was sourced in the US, the next from China and the current from India. Each shoe looks the same but the current shoe will not "break-in" as it is far stiffer and rubbing against the top part of the foot. Same size, same look, different fit, evidently. I will need to ask for a refund / return if I can't get comfortable. I am a rail commuter and walk 4 miles between destinations and I am lucky to get two years from any shoel My comments are in no way intended to disparage the countries of origin but each change of source can have unintended consequences. Don't ask me about Kangol hats........ I have a 9 yr old cap made in England that looks better than the 1 yr from China that has frayed.

I have been buying Rockports for 18 years. Started out with the ProWalkers and do to the quality dimensioning I started getting World Tour Classic Walking in January 2016. Just bought the pair for this year March 1st. Something happen within the last year with quality. Like someone else said the tongue of the shoe is now too short. I haven't notice any issues with stitching my issues are my sore feet trying to break these in. I can only wear these 2 to 3 times a week before I have to switch back to my old pair. This has never happen with the Rockports and its very upsetting. I do get Platar Fasciitis so the first thing I do is put in good arch supports. So is it my arch supports that aren't doing the job which is what I thought first. When I switched back to my old pair of World Touring Classic from last year I switched the Arch support too. After a few days my feet got better. Switched back to my new pair with arch support and I am sitting here typing this dreading getting up to work because the bottom of my feet hurt.

I am VERY disappointed in this pair (my 4th pair in a few years) ... they've changed the manufacturing and while it's advertised as a wide, the stitching change that they have implemented means that the "wide" feature has gone away. There is now a seam (NOT PICTURED) right at the ball of your foot, where the big toe begins. This stitching means that the width across the widest part of your foot is severely limited. Leading to an uncomfortable wearing shoe.

Overall shoe is pretty comfortable, but not great quality wise. Leather uppers could easily pass for imitation leather. They have a weird "plastic" stiffness to them that I hope will soften with age. Also the tongue is about a quarter inch to short. Look closely at the pictures and you can tell. When you tie the shoes, the shoelaces barely stay on top of the tongue. Never had shoes like this. Overall, just okay. Better choices out there. I'll have to see how they hold up.

Once a great shoe. Not any longer. The last two pairs, like my previous, fit great.

However, they are no longer as durable. Both last pairs have failed stitching around the toe. See photos.

Since they had been purchased six months earlier they were beyond the 60 day warranty.

This failure occurred both times after moderate wear. My previous shoes lasted for + 3 years before replacement.

This is NOT the product it used to be.

I hate to leave bad reviews on something but I just have to in this case. I have bought Rockports for years and what draws me to them is how comfortable they are, almost like wearing tennis shoes. But these things are so uncomfortable. There is almost no padding. When you walk on hard surfaces, they sound like hard plastic clicking against the ground, not like smooth and quiet like i am used to. Also the bottoms are slippery when you walk on wet surfaced. I hate to say it but I think these things are cheap Chinese knock-offs as that kind of stuff seems to be flooding the market nowadays. What led me to that conclusion is the drastic change in comfort and quality. The Rockport name that you see when you look inside the shoe had almost completely rubbed off within two day of wearing them. On closer examination I noticed that they were just stickers. I could peel the letters off with my fingernail. Overall people who bought these shoes here seem to be satisfied but I think that I got the bad ones. I think that I have ordered my last pair of shoes off of the internet. From now on I am going to go to the brick and mortar store where I can feel them, try them on and walk in them before I buy.

I recently purchased my third pair of these shoes after my second pair were stolen. The first two pairs fit great and were comfortable right out of the box. This pair, however, seems stiffer than the ones I had before, and the leather feels somewhat artificial. It also seems that the topmost eyelets are closer to the top of the upper, because when I tie the shoes, it seems less like they are tightening evenly and more like the top of the upper alone is drawn tight in a ring around the top of my foot. I will continue to wear these, but when they are ready to be replaced, I will probably look at other shoes as well and not just automatically order another pair of these. I may also forego purchasing them online and go somewhere were I can feel them and try them on first. I think this is a shame, because based on the other two pairs I had, I was really satisfied with these shoes.
