Product description

Keen Utility women's 6 inch

I am seriously in love with these boots! I usually wear an 8.5-9 shoe size. I first ordered the 9 and returned them for the 8.5 (perfect fit). The first 3 days did require breaking them in and I did have some hot spots but no blisters and by the 4th day, it felt like they were custom molding to my foot. I work construction (framing, machinery etc etc) and am on my feet in boots for about 10 hours a day. The soles are comfortable and the aluminum toe is a lot lighter than other steel toed boots I've had. I got the gargoyle/vapor (grey and bright pink/purple) and I'm in love with the color combo!

I love keens. These are the only type of work boot I can wear out of the box. I will say that the back part is a little bit stiff at first and takes a few wears to fully break them in. The other thing is the laces are a little bit harder to hook on to the eyelets when lacing. The plactic ones on the detroit boot are much easier. However, the first day I wore these I hiked around a work site in west virginia. Great boots.

I have very wide feet for a woman - 8.5EEE, mostly due to bunions. I have a VERY difficult time finding safety toe work boots because of that. Most women's work boots don't go that wide and most mens boots do not go down to the size I need. I thought I would try these Keen's since the brand is known for having a wider toe box to begin with.

I just wore these for the first time today and I have to say that this is a pretty wide boot, but just a tad tight around the widest part of my foot. There is more than enough room in the actual toe box for me to spread out and wiggle my toes around. I love that the aluminum toe is asymmetrical to follow the contours of each foot. That in itself provides extra space. But where my toes meet my foot is where the widest part is, and the boots are a little bit tight in that area.

With all that being said, they are not advertised as being Extra Wide so I was actually expecting the fit to be a little bit tighter. But I'm hoping that over time, they will stretch out some and become a little bit more comfortable.

Other than that, the length was accurate, the boot is not heavy due to the aluminum toe, which I love, it has good ankle support, its an attractive looking boot and they didn't hurt my feet after an 8 hour shift. Although I may add an insert just for extra comfort.

I would say that if you have wide feet, you may be pleasantly surprised by this fit.

I currently have 3 pr of keen steel toes, 1 pr each of hiking boots, winter boots, sandals and sneakers. All had no break in time, fit great and are comfortable. These are a bit bigger than the others (even with wool socks) and were stiff in the ankle for the first 2 weeks or so. They are finally comfortable enough to wear full time, but it took some break in time. I love all of my Keens- work buys us a pr of steel toes each year and the previous 2 are still kicking! I now have a pr of low tops and high tops for different seasons, plus the new one! These are water proof, and should hold up well at work.

I’m an archaeologist who works on oil pipelines and coal mines so am required to have 6” steel toes but also need to hike for survey. These work great. They are comfortable and supportive. Much better than just regular work boots. They are a little heavier than hiking boots but I did not feel any fatigue or get blisters after 10+ hours on my feet in the field.

I've had them for a week and I love them so far. After years of brown work boots, it's nice to have a change. I found the ankle to be a bit rigid the first day or two, but comfortable after that.

Really good boots for work! No break-in period they grip wet pavement really well. Will buy again.
